Simsbury High School

The Simsbury Public Schools serve more than 4, 500 students in five elementary schools, a seventh and eighth grade middle school and one high school. Simsbury High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school offering curricular and co-curricular programs to about 1,380 students in grades 9 to 12.  The high school’s mission is to help each student realize his/her potential by learning the knowledge, skills, and behaviors that promote both personal fulfillment and civic responsibility.  The school offers an extensive range of courses including culinary arts, visual, performing and musical arts, engineering, biomedical sciences, architecture, finance, computer science and technology, communications and many more.

Based on national rankings, Simsbury High School is one of the most competitive high schools, public or private, in the country. 

  • Niche, a Web site that evaluates schools nationwide, named Simsbury High School the ninth best public high school in Connecticut and at the 99th percentile of about 20,000 high schools ranked nationally.

  • About 71% of students graduate from the high school having taken at least one AP course.

  • In 2021, eighty-nine percent of Simsbury High School graduates continued their educations at two or four-year colleges and universities.

In addition to academic excellence, Simsbury High School also offers an extensive variety of extracurricular activities.  Student participation is very high in athletics, performing arts, publications and service groups.
